Two Experienced Therapists

Our practice was founded by two licensed clinicians with a shared philosophy: that children thrive when they feel seen, supported, and genuinely understood.

Children and adolescents who are ready to grow

We work with young people who may be navigating one or more of the following challenges — not as deficits to be corrected, but as opportunities for genuine growth.

  • Anxiety and worry that gets in the way
  • Social challenges or difficulty with friendships
  • Emotional regulation and big feelings
  • Flexible thinking and problem-solving
  • Confidence and self-expression
  • Reading social cues and situations

A thoughtful process from first conversation to meaningful growth

01

Parent Consultation

We begin with a conversation — no pressure, no commitment. We want to understand your child and whether our groups may be a genuine fit.

02

Assessment & Matching

We carefully assess each child and compose groups with intention — ensuring the right mix of participants for healthy dynamics.

03

Small Group Participation

Your child participates in weekly sessions using the SAS program — building practical skills in a supportive, structured setting.

04

Parent Support & Updates

Parents receive regular progress updates and practical tools for reinforcing skills at home — because growth happens between sessions too.

Two therapists. One shared commitment to young people.

Two Therapists was founded by two licensed mental health professionals who share a deep conviction: that children and adolescents thrive when they feel genuinely understood, appropriately challenged, and supported in building real skills for real life. Our practice is intentionally small. That is not a limitation — it is the point.

Small by design. Intentional by philosophy.

Every group we offer is carefully composed. We do not simply fill seats — we thoughtfully match participants to ensure the group dynamic supports each child’s growth. Small groups mean every young person is seen, heard, and genuinely engaged.

Evidence-based. Genuinely engaging. Built for real life.

The Secret Agent Society program was developed in Australia by clinical researchers who wanted to create something young people would actually engage with — not a worksheet exercise, but an experience that feels meaningful and produces lasting skills.

SAS is used by practitioners internationally and has a growing body of research supporting its effectiveness for children and adolescents who struggle with social and emotional challenges — including those with anxiety, autism spectrum profiles, and related experiences.

What makes SAS distinctive is that it treats social and emotional learning as a skill — something that can be taught, practiced, and strengthened over time — rather than a fixed trait. That belief in the capacity for growth is foundational to how we work.

Honest answers to common questions

Is this covered by insurance?

Two Therapists is a private-pay practice. We do not bill insurance directly. However, we are happy to provide documentation that you may submit to your insurance provider for potential out-of-network reimbursement. We encourage you to contact your insurance company in advance to understand your out-of-network benefits.

How are children selected for groups?

We begin with a parent consultation to understand your child’s needs, strengths, and goals. We then carefully assess fit and group composition — ensuring that each group is thoughtfully balanced for healthy dynamics and meaningful participation. Not every inquiry results in placement, and we will always be honest with you about whether a group is a good fit.

How many participants are in each group?

Our groups are intentionally small. We keep enrollment limited to ensure every young person receives genuine attention and that the group dynamic supports everyone’s growth. Specific numbers are shared during the consultation process.

What if my child is uncertain about group therapy?

That is completely understandable — and more common than you might expect. We approach that uncertainty with care rather than pressure. Our consultation process is designed to be warm and exploratory, and we can speak with you about how we help young people feel comfortable before and during the group experience.

How are parents involved?

Parent involvement is an important part of the process. You will receive regular progress updates and practical tools for reinforcing skills at home between sessions. Growth happens in the group — and it continues in everyday life. We support both.

How long does the program last?

Program length is discussed during the consultation and depends on the specific group and your child’s needs. We will always be transparent about expectations, timeline, and what participation involves before you make any commitment.

Begin with a conversation

“We would be honored to discuss whether our groups may be a good fit for your child.”

There is no pressure and no commitment in reaching out. Our first conversation is simply a conversation — an opportunity for you to share what your child is navigating and for us to share honestly whether we believe we can help.

We typically respond within one business day.
