Honest answers to common questions
Is this covered by insurance?
Two Therapists is a private-pay practice. We do not bill insurance directly. However, we are happy to provide documentation you may submit to your insurance provider for potential out-of-network reimbursement. We encourage you to contact your insurance company in advance to understand your out-of-network benefits.
How does the two-therapist model work?
Your family is paired with two therapists — one working directly with your child or teen, one working with you as a parent — coordinating closely so both sides of the work reinforce each other. We begin with a consultation to understand your family’s needs and shape the pairing accordingly.
What ages do you work with?
We work with children, teens, and young adults. During your consultation, we’ll talk through your child’s age and needs to determine the right fit.
How are parents involved?
Parent involvement is central to our model, not an add-on. You’ll work directly with your own therapist while your child works with theirs, and the two coordinate throughout — because growth happens in session and in everyday life.
What if my child is uncertain about starting therapy?
That’s completely understandable — and more common than you might expect. We approach that uncertainty with care rather than pressure, and we’re glad to talk with you about how we help young people feel comfortable before and during the process.
How long does the process take?
Timeline depends on your family’s specific needs and goals. We’ll always be transparent about expectations before you make any commitment.
